A blank canvas
Raemoir is a dream location in many ways, but the feather in our cap is the house itself. The shared spaces and bedrooms each have a character all of their own, reflecting the fascinating history and legacy of this grand Georgian mansion house.
Our public rooms are all on the ground floor with glorious views over the parkland and woods of our private estate. The beautiful bay windows are made for gazing out over the changing seasons from the comfort of a cosy armchair or posing for the perfect Instagram story. The rooms are all interconnected and doors can be opened for maximum mingling or kept closed to create unique spaces.
The House
Set within a Georgian-era country house, Raemoir House retains many of its original period features, beautifully complemented by a series of tasteful yet characterful renovations over the years.
The main house offers 12 individually styled en-suite bedrooms, comfortably accommodating up to 24 guests and there is an additional 4 ensuite double rooms in the adjacent Ha' Hoose annexe if required. The guest capacity for any event is 70 as this is the comfortable number for the Dining Room
All principal reception rooms are located on the ground floor of the main house, each enjoying wonderful views across the surrounding countryside. The Oval Room is a grand space and the original house Ballroom so this is where the dancing usually takes place with the other connecting rooms providing a naturally cosy and relaxed atmosphere, which Raemoir House is well known for, between sets.
The Ha'Hoose
Thought to be one of the few wind and waterproof, fully functioning hall houses in Scotland, the historic Ha’ Hoose at Raemoir dates back to 1690. It originally served as Raemoir’s “big house” before the construction of the main residence, offering a rare and authentic connection to the estate’s earlier days.
The house features four spacious double bedrooms, all with ensuite facilities, contributing to a total resident guest capacity of 32.
The Panelled Lounge
The Panelled Lounge is a favourite for those who value comfort and atmosphere, offering the perfect place to unwind beside an open fire. Whether you’re settling in with a good book for a quiet moment of solitude, contemplating the world with a dram in your hand or gathering with friends for games and drinks and an easy afternoon together, the space adapts effortlessly to every mood.
With its Scots pine–clad walls and deep, indulgently comfortable sofas and seats, it creates a warm and inviting setting that feels both refined and relaxed - a hallmark of Raemoir House.
The Big Fish Bar
The Big Fish Bar is an ideal size for the heart of your gathering. We’re proud to stock loads of Scottish malts, gins and beers as well as everything else you’d expect, and the huge tarpon caught in 1807 which gives the bar its name is sure to provide a talking point or two. The bar is decorated in our signature quirky style and includes an original bed headboard from the original house. Your party can spill out onto the lawn from here, down the seriously photogenic steps.
The Oval Room
The Oval Room, with its wooden floor, was originally the house ballroom and remains one of its most captivating spaces. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame commanding views across the grounds, while the room’s distinctive curved walls and doors add to its unique character.
A grand bronze chandelier hangs overhead, complemented by vintage flocked velvet wall coverings, together creating an atmosphere that feels almost suspended in time. Of all the rooms in the house, the Oval Room most vividly evokes the sensation of stepping back into another era.
Whether hosting a fabulous private dinner, creating the perfect setting for a ceremony, or dancing as if no one is watching, this remarkable space offers an unforgettable experience.
