Raemoir House Hotel, is
a beautiful privately owned and run Scottish country house hotel
close to Aberdeen, in the glorious landscape of Royal
Deeside. The Georgian mansion house sits
in wide parkland, a mile to the north of Banchory in easy
reach of all the famous Victorian Aberdeenshire tourist
attractions.
The main house, was built in 1817 but extensively
developed in the Victorian age, when Balmoral
was first becoming known as the favourite retreat
of the Royal Family. It is still popular with
them today, HRH
Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall
and Rothsay regularly
escape the limelight to enjoy the fresh air
and countryside of Aberdeenshire. Raemoir
House
is constructed from the traditional and typical
Aberdeenshire granite that is so famously bright
in the sunlight that Aberdeen is known as the
silver city. (The Area)
Additional to the 14
bedrooms in the main house,
is a further 6 located in the even older building
known as the Ha’ Hoose that dates to 1715. This name derives
from the term Hall House, it was in fact the main Raemoir
house until the larger one was built directly
in front of it 100 years later. The Ha' Hoose provides 3 ground floor bedrooms.
The hotel is accessed from the long tree lined drive that opens out to reveal an open 10
acres of open lawn and parkland, making the
hotel an ideal retreat for guests to holiday
with their dogs.
A permanent white ‘H’ is also clearly
marked to guide private helicopters in to land.
With Aberdeen having the busiest civilian heliport
in the world, this is well used and always exciting
to see.
If you are interested in using this beautiful
building with its majestic rooms for a
private
event, be it corporate or personal, you will find
it very accommodating to all possibilities. Numbers
are generally best kept under 60 as this suits the house
well, the size of rooms and facilities,
but with the front lawn as well there are
possibilities for marquees and open air events
too.
